Program of Work

The Southwest Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce will advance the economic, educational, and cultural growth of Peachtree Corners, Norcross, and Berkeley Lake, to enhance the quality of living in our communities and to foster continuous improvements of the tri-city area of Gwinnett County as the place to live, work, and enjoy a sustained, healthy quality of life.

Advocate

The Southwest Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce will be the advocate for schools, businesses, churches, and non-profit organizations in Peachtree Corners, Norcross and Berkeley Lake. The mission of these Chamber outreach programs is to enhance and support our community, our values, and our quality of life.
  • Promote education in Southwest Gwinnett County. The Chamber will work with school administrators and teachers for all the schools in the area to enhance the quality of education in Southwest Gwinnett County. Example: Career Exploration Night, Junior Achievement BizTown and Finance Park,
  • Volunteer Connection. Establish a process for encouraging volunteering in the community to aid non-profit organizations in the SWGC geography. Specifically, aiding organizations like the Norcross Cooperative Ministry, Toys for Tots, Hiring Well, Doing Good Program, or an Atlanta Community Food Bank canned food drive.

Build

The Chamber will continue to build and nurture a “pro-business environment” in Peachtree Corners, Norcross, and Berkeley Lake by providing access to the businesses in our area, promoting a healthy business climate to local and regional government and encouraging those who live and work in Southwest Gwinnett to patronize the local businesses and buy here first!
  • Establish a portal of business services for Chamber members. The Chamber will organize and coordinate “member to member” services for those who need assistance in human resources, accounting, legal, and other professional services.
  • Represent area businesses at local and county government meetings. The chamber will represent our members at all meetings of the Peachtree Corners, Norcross, and Berkeley Lake city council meetings, The Gateway 85 CID board meetings and meetings of the Gwinnett County Commission. The SWGC Chamber will distribute any information of interest and importance from those meetings to our Chamber members.
  • Focus on specific verticals to build membership. The Chamber will work with our members to create new marketing opportunities that target the needs of specific verticals. As an example, the Chamber will focus on the professional services sector to promote new membership. This would include but not limited to real estate agents, lawyers, accountants, printers or any firm providing professional services.
